Step one: Take a sheet of 8.5 x 11 printer paper (the thinner, the better.) Fold the top edge to meet the right edge.
Step two: Cut the bottom part off so that you have a square that is folded in half.
Step three: Fold the triangle in half, making the right side and bottom side meet.
Step four: Here comes the tricky part. You need to be able to fold the triangle into thirds. I start by folding the left edge so that it is about midway between the right edge and the new left edge.
Step five: Now, fold back the right edge to the left edge. When you try to do this, you may find you need to adjust step four so that the right edge will meet the left edge in step five. The second photo below shows this step slightly unfolded.
Step six: Cut straight across the bottom of the paper to make a triangle. This photo shows the paper flipped with the bottom to the top. I don’t know how I managed that when taking the photos.
Step seven: Now comes the fun part. Cut away as much as you can from the paper without making it fall apart. The less paper left, the more it looks like a snowflake!
Step eight: Unfold and enjoy!
