I decided to attempt to make up a simple pattern for a flower shaped coaster to use some of the cotton worsted yarn I have in my yarn bin devoted to cotton worsted. Feel free to use this pattern to make these for yourself, family, or friends. Please do not sell the pattern. Do not sell products made from the pattern online. If you wish to share the pattern, please send the person to my blog to get it.
Please let me know if you try it out. Let me know if any of my instructions do not make sense, or might be worded more clearly.

Perfect timing for your flower coaster picture and the pattern…..Soon all of God’s creation will wake up from their sleep giving to us to view the beauty within.
Thank U for sharing.
Very nice. I plan on trying this out. Do you have patterns for your letters? I’d like to make a “Z” for my little girl.
Thanks!

Response: You are welcome to try to come up with a square using this flower as the center. However, I will not be able to make up a pattern for you at this time.
Aw this is perfect. I love it. Thank you!
Can you do this pattern the same if your right handed?

Yes, all patterns should work the same for right and left handed.

Hi, I’m very new to crochet.
I’ve already made 4 of these coasters, and they look pretty decent, but I still think I’m doing something wrong.
In Round 1, what happens to the first chain from the hook? It seems to just stick out at the back. I am doing 6 sc into that second chain from hook, so ch 1 just turns into a loop at the back. I am starting by doing a slip knot, then chain 2 — is that right?
In Round 3, how do I “end off” first color? Am I supposed to do a sl st and chain 1, then join in new color?
Also, no matter what I do, and I’m counting very carefully, I’m only getting 17 stitches on this round.
Also, I’ve studied the photo of your coaster and your’s does not have the little extra stitch at the end of the row that makes the inner circle look uneven — like mine does.
Help!
Thank you,
Diana
I hope the responses that I emailed you helped.
