My mother in law was kind enough to purchase some Easter themed cookie cutters for us to use this year. We made the dough yesterday and rolled, baked and decorated today. As you can see from the different cookies, I have a three and a six year old. We used plastic bags with the corners snipped out as our decorating bags since that seemed like a better idea than trying to use something more complex that required more cleaning and greater dexterity.
The cookie cutters worked fairly well, except for the basket. It seemed to have too much pattern to it and the dough got all stuck in it. So, only two baskets. The chicks also had difficulty coming out with legs attached, as you can see from the photos.

Another part of preparing for Easter involved reading a book called The Easter Story retold and illustrated by Carol Heyer. This book was a great one for my six year old daughter; she was very excited to pick it out from the new books section of our home library as a reward for a great day.

looks like alot of cleanup was involved lol :]
